HTC TyTn / Orange SPV m3100 as a USB modem

I’ve had some issues with getting my SPV m3100 working as a 3G modem with my XP notebook  over Bluetooth, I’ll tackle that a bit later however I’ve managed to get it working as a USB cabled modem and get pretty good speeds 300kbits ish. Orange 1st to market with HSDPA in the UK but are yet to produce a usable product like Vodafone’s IP Broadband which we’re about to evaluate at work. Voda claim 1.8Mbits throughput and an all you can eat (read max 1Gbyte a month or get a telling off).

the USB modem is a breeze to set up (wires euch) but all you have to do is point the found new hardware wizard at this file (ignore the WHQL squeals and you are away)

remember you have to set the wireless modem ( accessories  ) to USB and activate it on the m3100.
